Sherlock Gnomes Mama Blogger Promo Event Recap
We had such a fun day with some amazing mamas and kids recently, and I wanted to share my Sherlock Gnomes mama blogger promo event recap!
This past weekend we attended a promo activity for the children’s movie, Sherlock Gnomes that will be released in theaters March 23rd. Being a full-time working mom, it’s definitely hard to find the time to meet up with other moms or schedule playdates. This event was the perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone! You guys know how much I love multi-tasking!
The Venue:
The event was held at the Dream Big Children’s Center, which I didn’t even know about! It’s the cutest place for kids to burn off some energy, and I love that everything there encourages them to use their imagination! It’s located in Old Town Monrovia, which is such a cute little area. They had a sand pit filled with dinosaurs, an adorable little farmers market (soo cute!), a room with a kitchen and tons of cooking and baking utensils, a rooms with trains and cars, a space room, dress-up, and a super cute “doctor’s office” room. The facility is really well-maintained and it was basically every child’s dream come true. There was definitely something for everyone! Gray loved the farmers market, and the room with the trains of course haha. They even have a performance stage that’s also perfect for a dessert table (that’s what it was used for at the event). There was also a large open area where all of the tables were set up. It’s definitely the perfect place for an event or children’s birthday party if you’re looking for something in the Monrovia area!
The Hostesses with the Mostess:
The event was hosted by the L.A. Mamacitas, an organization whose mission is to empower women through motherhood and beyond. The founders, Ruby and Janet, are such inspiring, hard-working mamas and it was so nice meeting them in real life. They both work full-time, while still managing to balance their time between their families and planning events for the L.A. Mamacitas. They’re definitely super mamas! It was my first L.A. Mamacitas event, and they were both so sweet and welcoming. We chatted about the struggles we face as working mamas, mom-guilt, blogging and balancing marriage and building a brand. It’s so nice to talk to women who can completely relate to the things you struggle with on a daily basis. You can learn more about the founders here.
The L.A. Mamacitas really went all out for this event. They had a beautiful Sherlock Gnomes dessert table with red balloons, delish cupcakes made by the very talented Piece of Cake by Angie, and other yummy treats. They had long tables that had the cutest little smocks, a paint palette, paint brushes, paint, Sherlock Gnomes posters and super cute gnomes for the kids to paint. Gray finished painting his gnome in about two minutes and then ran back to the train room, but he has been carrying his blue gnome with him everywhere since the event. The kids got to explore and play in all of the rooms while the mamas got to socialize a little bit. All of the mamas were so sweet, and there were so many adorable kiddos running around all over the place. When we left, the kids got goodie bags with Sherlock Gnomes sunglasses, books, hats and mini gnomes. Gray was so excited that he didn’t even think about crying when we left! haha
If you guys follow me on Instagram, you know that Saturday is “Grayson and Mama Day”. We take it pretty seriously, and I try to do something fun with just the two of us since my hubby works Saturdays. It was rare for us to do something like this on a Sunday, but I’m SO glad we went. We discovered a new children’s center, Gray got to play with kids his age, and I got to meet some amazing mamas. Having mom friends is essential on this journey, and it’s something that I often put on the back burner. I’ve been trying to step out of my comfort zone recently, and it’s been so great. I absolutely love the mom community that I’ve found through social media, and being able to meet some of these amazing women in person was so much fun.
Thanks again to L.A. Mamacitas for having us, and to Dream Big Children’s Center for hosting the event! Make sure you go see Sherlock Gnomes when it comes out on March 23rd!
