How to Plan a Glitzy NYE in with Treetopia
I cannot believe Christmas is already over, but that means we still have one more holiday left! Since having Gray, we usually spend NYE at home drinking champagne (apple cider for Gray), eating lots of yummy food and watching movies. Even though we like to stay in, I still love to make sure the house looks festive and we start the evening in dressy clothes (even though we always end up in PJs).
I’m SO excited that I was able to team up with Treetopia to create this fun holiday setup using their glitzy wreaths and garlands. The best part about this campaign is that it’s a blog hop so make sure to check out the other blogger’s posts!
I was sent the 26″ Prelit Tinkerbell Silver Christmas Wreath and the 10′ Prelit Pretty in Pink Christmas Garland to help add some glitz and glamour to our NYE celebration. I absolutely love all of the fun colors that Treetopia products come in, and the pink and silver are right up my alley! It’s so great that they’re prelit, and they’re even prettier in person.
Since NYE is right around the corner, I wanted to share my top 5 tips for planning a festive NYE in that’s perfect for the whole family:
1. Decorations and party favors
Once I received my Treetopia wreath and garland I decided on a pink, white and metallic color palette for our decor. If pink and silver aren’t your thing, take a look at the other color options here. I picked up some metallic NYE hats, party horns, blowers and some matching balloons. Confetti is also kind of a NYE staple, but it is definitely messy-especially when there are toddlers involved! I found some mini silver foil number balloons that went perfectly with the wreath. To put it all together, I placed the wreath on the wall, draped the wreath across our large windows and then taped the balloons to the window. I think it’s always fun to have a festive photo backdrop, so just try to find the best spot in your house for this!
2. Outfits
My hubby and I have always enjoyed dressing up, so our family usually starts out in dressy outfits. Think sequins, metallics, velvets and fur! For this shoot I wore a white dress with a sequin bodice that I bought from ASOS a few years ago and my favorite pink sequin Manolo Blahniks (since I basically never have a reason to wear them anymore). Gray wore a black velvet blazer from Zara, with a white button-up, black pants and his Marc Joseph NY loafers. I definitely like to be comfy for most of the night, but it’s always fun to put on fancy outfits and sip some champagne before our PJ party!
3. Food & snacks
One of my fav parts of NYE is definitely the food. As a kid, my mom always bought all of our fav snacks and junk food and we would have a slumber party with our cousins. Now that I’m the one planning our NYE festivities, our menu varies from year to year. We usually order/make pizza, I make a bunch of fun appetizers and of course I ALWAYS bake. For the sake of nostalgia, I still include some chips, semi-healthy “junk food” and a fun dessert.
4. Drinks
Is it even a holiday if you don’t make a festive cocktail (or mocktail in Gray’s case)? Of course champagne is a NYE necessity, but I also like to create a signature cocktail and add some fun garnishes. I will most likely be making something similar to this for NYE. I try to make a virgin version of our cocktails for Gray so he feels like he’s part of the party. Parent tip: apple cider does have a lot of sugar so try diluting it with sparkling water or just using sparkling water with a splash of juice and fruit garnishes for your little ones-you’re welcome in advance.
5. Activities
We try to keep it pretty low key on NYE, but this year I want to start the evening with some fun arts & crafts and maybe even a scavenger hunt. We’ll probably spend the rest of the night munching on snacks, sipping our cocktails/mocktails, watching movies and seeing if we can make it to midnight.
I hope these tips were helpful if you’re thinking of having a festive night in for NYE!

This is such a cute idea! I love the decorations and the food looks yummy! Every year I want to do something fun, but every year it doesn’t really happen. I have fun, but just not what I was planning. But this idea is great, just stay in and create your own fun festive glamorous party. 🙂 Love it!

Thanks so much! I find that most things I plan end up different from what I plan now that I’m a mom haha. I think the key is to just go with the flow and make the best out of things! Some fun decorations and food are all you really need! Hope you have a great New Years!

OH! MY! GOODNESS! Love love love the decorations. I can’t wait until James becomes a little bit more human – less creature – and can participate more in celebrating the holidays wth us, constructively as opposed to his current destructive cat like manner. Definitely going to do the whole apple cider for him this year!
