SodaStream Fizzi Review
I drank a ton of sparkling water when I was pregnant with Gray. I would usually squeeze some lemon in it or add some fruit, and it helped with nausea and kept me hydrated. Fast forward several months, and we randomly let Gray take a sip of our sparkling water just to see what his reaction would be. Surprisingly enough, he loved it and we would give it to him occasionally as he got older. Now that he’s three, he basically demands it. “No mommy, not water-sparkling water!” Everyone gets such a kick out of his love for sparkling water, but it can be a pretty expensive preference. I was so excited when I discovered the SodaStream Fizzi, and the company was kind enough to gift me the starter kit to try.
My first impression was that it was compact and sleek, and I love the fact that it doesn’t have a power cord. The starter kit comes with the Fizzi Sparkling Water Maker, 1 Liter BPA-free Reusable Carbonating Bottle and a 60L CO2 Cylinder (makes up to 60L of sparkling water).
It was extremely easy to assemble and within a minute or so, we were ready to start using it! As you can see, Gray seems more interested in eating our oranges but I promise he was excited to use it! haha
You just fill the empty bottle up with regular water, and then pop it into the machine. I did read some reviews where people didn’t push the bottle all the way up when they inserted it into the machine, , so make sure it’s placed into the SodaStream device correctly.
Of course, Gray was most excited about the pressing of the button. According to the instructions, you push the button down and hold it for a few seconds. Push it once for light carbonation or three times for extra carbonation. Obviously we pushed it three times because we like to live dangerously.
I removed the bottle, and Gray volunteered to pour the sparkling water like the little gentleman that he is. I had a couple of cups ready for us that were filled with ice and a few slices of orange.
We had to cheers first, and then on to the taste test! It was delicious, and my sparkling water obsessed three-year-old approved! No more running to the store because we ran out of sparkling water for us! I can’t wait to try the different flavoring options they have. I’ve heard so many great things about them! It’s going to be such a fun and easy way to hydrate without wasting plastic bottle or cans.
Later in the day I decided to make a quick fruit-infused drink for my myself and the hubby. I blended 5 strawberries in a blender, poured the pureed strawberries into sparkling water over ice and added slices of orange. I also salted the rim, but that’s optional of course. Mom tip: add tequila or even rosé. You can thank me later.
I got these paper straws from the cutest local stationery store recently, but I also found them on Etsy if anyone is interested!
Overall, we loved the machine! I can definitely see us using our SodaStream Fizzi often, and the drink possibilities are endless. Let me know if you guys have any questions about the product!
Cheers!
