Healthy St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Protein Shake
I decided to share my healthy St. Patrick’s Day shamrock protein shake since it’s almost St. Patty’s Day! If you ready my vday smoothie bowl recipe post, then you probably already know that I’m obsessed with holidays. For St. Patty’s Day, I usually bake some mint chocolate chip cookies, and a couple of other green treats. This year, I wanted to come up with a smoothie that’s festive and healthy. I used to get so excited when they had the Shamrock Shake at McDonald’s when I was a kid, so of course I wanted to make a healthy version.
It’s super easy to make, and of course you can make it without the protein powder for kids. I love that you don’t have to add any green food coloring because, just like in my hulk pancake recipe, spinach adds the perfect green color! I also added my favorite greens powder for an extra boost.
As always, I used my absolute favorite GOOD slim body protein powder. It’s the most delicious protein powder ever, and it was perfect for this smoothie.
Obviously, no Shamrock shake would be complete without a little bit of peppermint extract. It’s pretty strong, so you don’t need to add much. I would start with a little less if you don’t like a super minty flavor.
If you’re making it for your kids, you can be super festive and add whipped cream, sprinkles etc. Since I’m trying to be a little healthier, a few marshmallows were enough for me haha.
I hope you guys love this shake as much as I do! You can make it any day, but it’s perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.
Also, make sure you check out my Green Hulk Pancake Recipe if you’re looking for other green breakfast ideas!
Enjoy!

This looks so good! I definitely want to try this out! I ran out of vanilla protein powder and only have a bag of myprotein chocolate nut right now. I wonder if this recipe would be good with the chocolate?
