Outdoor Pizza Picnic with Mezzetta
Outdoor Pizza Picnic with Mezzetta
I’ve mentioned in this post, that one of the ways that I’ve found joy in the last several months is by celebrating everything. It’s been so fun making a little celebration out of ordinary things. One of the ways I’ve been doing this is by turning meals into outdoor picnics. Getting outside is good for the whole family and it just makes mealtime more fun. Recently I created a small outdoor pizza party picnic using some of my favorite Mezzetta products.

We have pizza nights often-they’re my 5 year-old’s favorite. I wanted this pizza party to be a little bit more special so I decided to set it up outside, and I decided to elevate the pizza by adding delicious Mezzetta ingredients. Instead of just having pizza, I cut it into slices and incorporated it into a fun board with a few other Mezzetta snacks and treats. Here are few of the things I added to the pizza:
- Mezzetta Pizza Sauce
- Mezzetta Basil Pesto
- Mezzetta jalapeño Peppers
- Mezzetta Kalamata Olives
The combination of the pizza sauce and basil pesto on the thin crust I chose was absolute perfection! I love a good veggie pizza with a kick so the jalapeños were my favorite addition. I’ve purchased Mezzetta products for years, and now that I’m a mom I appreciate how easy they make it to add some extra oomph to our meals and snacks.
For the rest of the board I kept it pretty simple and added:
- Sliced cucumber
- Cheese
- Mezzetta Castelvetrano Olives
- Sliced mushrooms
- Small bowl of crushed red pepper for the pizza
Pro tip: Grab some Martini Olives and whip up some martinis to enjoy after the kids go to bed
Whenever I post photos of my picnics I get questions about them so I wanted to share how I put them together. Most of the time I put my youngest into our stroller wagon and my oldest runs around outside while I set everything up. These are some of my essential picnic supplies:
-A mat or picnic blanket
-A clothesline and sheet for a backdrop
-A variety of baskets
-Cute cups, plates, silverware
-Aesthetic sparkling sodas or drinks
-Flowers or pampas
-A wood board for snack board
-Drink pitcher
