My Top 5 Natural Remedies for Stress
With everything going on, it has been a stressful few months-ok a stressful year. Since having my second baby, I’ve been focusing on relieving my stress naturally. Over the last few months I’ve discovered some things that have been super helpful for me so I wanted to share them in the hopes that they might help some of you also! Being a mama can be stressful in itself but adding a pandemic and homeschooling to the list has taken things to a whole new level. I’ll be honest, I’m not great at managing stress so it takes a lot of work for me. These are a few things that have kept me calm lately:
I also want to mention that I am not a health expert, I am just sharing what works for me. As always, please consult your physician before trying a new supplement.
1.CBD
I’ve used CBD here and there over the last few years, but it wasn’t until recently that I really started using it more regularly. I partnered with a couple of CBD companies this year and have really liked using their products. When I feel overwhelmed, anxious or stressed out these are a few of the things I reach for:
- Zebra CBD Tension and Stress Tablets These are chewable and I love that they also help with tension headaches
- CBDistillery Relief +Relax Oil Tincture I drop this tincture under my tongue when I’m feeling anxious and immediately feel more relaxed
- CBDistillery PM Gummies A lot of times I have trouble shutting my mind off at night so these taking these before bed helps
- Healist Naturals Calm Chews These are great when I need to calm down and I love that they contain ashwagandha and L-theanine
2. Deep Breaths
This one is simple-and FREE! It definitely took me becoming a mama of two to realize how much of a difference deep breaths can make! When I’m about to lose it and the boys are driving me crazy, taking deep breaths help me calm down. I have my 5 year-old do this when he’s upset too. I usually just focus on my breathing as I inhale through my mouth for four seconds, hold it for four seconds and then exhale for four seconds. So easy and you can do it anytime!
3. Essential Oils
I finally made the plunge and ordered some Young Living essential oils a couple of months ago and I am SO HAPPY about it. I ordered the welcome kit which came with a diffuser and several of their most popular oils, and I’ve been using my new oils daily. My favorite oils for stress relief:
- Lavender
- Stress Away
- Peace and Calming
- Frankincense
I’ve diffused these oils, diluted them and rubbed them on my spine and bottom of my feet (and my boys’ spines and feet) and sometimes I just put a few drops in my palms, put my hands over my face and take a few deep breaths. 4. Bach’s Rescue Remedy Natural Stress Reliever
I ordered this from Amazon shortly after I had my second baby and it was honestly a life saver during my fourth trimester-and I still use it. I just put a few drops in my morning water and I definitely notice I’m more relaxed when I incorporate it into my daily routine. On the days I would forget to take it, I noticed I was a lot more on edge. It contains a mixture of 5 natural flower essences and most importantly, it really works!
5. Organic Olivia Mood Juice
I discovered Organic Olivia several months ago. She’s an herbalist and shares soo much useful information. She also sells supplements and I use and LOVE so many of them-my oldest also uses some of her kid’s supplements. Anyways, her Mood Juice is another thing I add to my morning water. It’s basically designed to boost your mindset while relieving stress and anxiety.
I hope these natural products provide you some relief during these stressful times!
